About Us
Showroom 22 is New Zealand’s first fashion showroom and PR agency. The showroom was launched in April 2002 and has since worked with fashion labels and publications worldwide.
Director Murray Bevan worked for Karen Walker for two years prior to opening Showroom 22. The experience he gained from showrooms in New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney is what led him to launch a New Zealand-based showroom that caters for the fashion industry.

SERVICES
Showroom Representation
The basis for Showroom 22’s service to the fashion industry is to represent each client’s product in the showroom, making it accessible to editors and stylists nationwide.
Sitting alongside other labels at Showroom 22, fashion labels and brands have increased exposure to media across the board.
The main tactic for this showroom representation is to increase a label's visibility in leading fashion and lifestyle press within New Zealand. This will provide a base for future PR to leverage off.
Press Releases and Additional Collateral
To back up the product in the showroom, we write and distribute press releases for any seasonal collections and news from each client. To accompany this we also distribute images, company histories, biographies and other material from the client that is relevant to the press.
We manage seasonal PR strategies for each client, assuring them coverage in a wide range of media with feature stories, designer profiles and fulfilling other PR opportunities that can maintain a high level of visibility for our clients.
Product Placement
If product placement is required, Showroom 22 will recommend certain people that would be suitable vehicles to give free products to from time to time (depending on your budget). This placement of premium product into the hands of influential people will help raise the ‘word on the street’/’word of mouth’ value of your labels.
Fashion Week
Air New Zealand Fashion Week presents many opportunities for Showroom 22 to work with clients. Managing events and showing key media through new collections is the basis of the work we do, and we also offer our clients the opportunity to host media and buyers for their own appointments. Our knowledge of the New Zealand market means we can also help target key stores and buyers for each of your brands.
For NZFW 2008, Showroom 22 has appointed new freelance staff for sponsorship and show production, so the time we spend on our clients' activities can be solely targeted at gaining press coverage. Imogen O'Neill and Sarah Hough lead the production team, with Imogen also heading up sponsorship. Sarah Garlick has also been brought in to drive sales for those clients that don't wish to sell collections themselves. Showroom 22 will still oversee all work carried out for their clients at NZFW.
Event & Production Management
Events management is the second most popular service from Showroom 22 within New Zealand. For clients such as Karen Walker, Stephen Marr, Mala Brajkovic, Workshop, Porsche and Little Brother we have managed fashion shows and we have also worked on exhibitions and launch parties for ghd, Le Specs, Marion Hume, C People, RJC, Little Brother, Swanndri by Karen Walker and Karen Walker Eyewear among many others.
Production management has also been utilised through Showroom 22 by magazines as well as fashion brands both in New Zealand and overseas. Examples of this are the Spring/Summer 03/04 campaign shoot for Canterbury Clothing in Australia, a travel story for New York-based Bloomingdales Magazine, stories for Intersection magazine and London-based i-D and travel/lifestyle shoots for Elle UK and The London Observer.
Showroom 22 also represents writers, photographers and artists who have been utilised by publications such as Womens Wear Daily, W magazine, Intersection magazine, Oyster and Air New Zealand Magazine.
Public Speaking
Showroom 22 director Murray Bevan has spoken at many key events in the last two years, mostly to young or up-and-coming fashion and media students, or those wishing to start new fashion businesses. Our experience in the New Zealand market means we have a wealth of accurate, insightful information pertaining to the New Zealand market and modern branding.
