New Zealand has turned out a surge of indy bands in recent years, but none share the same vision and raw talent as Takapuna lads, The Checks.

Here, Showroom 22 helped profile The Checks in Dazed & Confused's UK edition, shot by Rene Vaile, before they had ever released their first song.

The band is now based overseas and is expected to do great things.
