‘As You Were’…

Juliette Hogan’s summer 2008 collection 'As You Were' continues to embrace her classic, minimalist approach to design while exploring fresh and exciting colour, detailing and silhouettes. The collection's muse is the epitome of understated style with an underlying soft elegance and intellect.
The colour palette is a subtle mix of cool greys, inky blues & neutrals with highlights of lemon and teal. Key prints are the retro spot print on cotton poplin and the blue-charcoal painters print on silk habutai. Crisp cottons sit alongside chamber linen and organic cotton knit with sequin chiffon.
Signature pieces include the fitted denim dress with bust paneling, ladylike silk georgette ruffle front shirt-dress & the antique dress with sunray pleating. As always, it’s the simple detailing that ties the collection together; over-sized rolled hems, elasticated waistlines, embroidered details and clever paneling.
Silhouettes are softened from previous seasons with longer hem lengths and the addition of easy free flowing over-pieces. ‘As You Were’ is defined by an effortless elegance and simple sophistication.

Since completing a senior scholarship year at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York, Juliette has risen quickly through the ranks of New Zealand fashion.
Her garments are both beautifully modern and classically feminine. Clean, minimal lines are a signature style, coupled with her careful selection of cloth, texture and colour palette, making for functional and timeless collections.
