Her 4th eyewear collection sees us becoming the ‘Masters of Disguise’.
The 2008 ‘Masters of Disguise’ campaign is an ode to J.T. Leroy - the notorious literary hoax and celebrates the fun of a $2 shop fake beard or bird’s nest wig teamed of course with the season’s hottest new shades.
The long term dream team is once again on board - Mikhail Gherman came up with the concept as well as art directed and styled; Derek Henderson is once again behind the lens and the hair was done by those clever guys at Stephen Marr.
The new range made its debut at New York Fashion Week on February 5th on the runway of the Karen Walker Autumn / Winter 2008 show. New styles to watch out for are SIR BOOKIE, a frame to hide away from any intrusive eyes; GEE GEE’s pure elegance with a KW twist; and DERBY shines as the new ‘it’ frame of the season.
2008 has proved to be an incredible beginning for the collection so far. The interest surrounding the campaign has ignited pursuit from international stockists as well as early press for the collection that is yet to even officially launch.
The collection has continued to grow in International department stores, with notable leaders Barneys New York re-ordering and selling out continuously the last two seasons and London’s prestigious Liberty department store picking the line up last season. KWE is now stocked in over 11 countries with new doors being added continuously.
