Press Release

Kathryn Wilson Winter 2009

From biker-style lace-up shoe boots, to ankle wrap heels, to signature 80’s inspired trainers, winter 2009 sees Kathryn firmly positioned as New Zealand’s best footwear designer, fueling her ever-growing, cult-like fan base.

The new collection incorporates 26 styles in a variety of colours, from quirky pop hues, to deep earthy shades and classic midnight tones.  Styles are simplistic, innovative and wearable, embodying a sophisticated take on the 90’s era.

Jaffa orange, slate, and cobalt blue are highlight colours in Kathryn’s winter line, used in knee-high and ankle boots, as well as platform heels.

The patent-leather look is featured in many of Kathryn’s designs, combined with suede and two-tone colours to create unique trainers, jazz flats and tassle loafers.

Prints bloom on casual day styles, with men’s and women’s trainers bedecked in Japanese floral motifs.

The De-Villiers boot, made in shrunken leather, is the new ‘Jimmy Boot’ (Kathryn’s all-time best-selling style), re-worked for a slimmer line.

Winter’s must-have unisex style is the 80’s-influenced high-top trainer.  Made from a patent two-tone design in black and white, the shoe is available with contrasting sole units in lime green for men, or baby pink for women.

The men’s collection features two exclusively developed styles; a boot and tailored, lace-up dress shoe, both made from super-soft calf leather.

A special addition to the winter collection is the introduction of kid’s trainers for 2-7yr olds. These chic little numbers mimic the upper design of the trainers from the adult range.

Kathryn Wilson’s winter ‘09 range will make its debut in stores in February 2009. Her current range is stocked in 30 outlets throughout New Zealand, and within various international outlets in Los Angeles, New York, and Australia.
