Paper Mash-up!

Paper Mash-up!

New York-based Paper Magazine's September 2008 issue has been inspired by none other than New Zealand fashion designer extraordinaire Karen Walker!

Paper editor Kim Hastreiter's intro letter plays out the love affair that was started when she stumbled across one of Karen's summer '09 lookbooks, full of weird and kooky disguised models adorned in the latest eyewear.  Finally giving in to her obsession, Kim styled and mocked up the 62-page magazine around Karen's eyewear collection, 'Masters Of Disguise'.

A Tendency for Des Rusk

A Tendency for Des Rusk

Spanish pop fashion magazine 'Tendencias' falls for Des Rusk this month with a double-page spread on the kiwi designer.

The feature covers Des's spring/summer 08/09 southern hemisphere collection and, although I'm not that well-versed in Spanish, I'm guessing it says things like "Des is great, Des is tall, we love Des, he is awesome" etc etc.

You Like Hectors?? Ditto.

You Like Hectors?? Ditto.

One of the world's most talked-about pop stars, Beth Ditto, has
adorned a pair of Karen Walker 'Hectors' for her outlandish
performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Ditto and her band 'The Gossip' played Glastonbury amongst other global
stars that included first-time festival goer and hip-hop megastar,
Jay-Z.

In Ditto's hour-long set, she thrashed out a rendition of Nirvana's
'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to get the crowd hyped, and was forced to
dance with a security guard to keep her from her usual crowd-friendly
antics.

Check out one of Ditto's Glastonbury moments here at YouTube.
