RICHARD MOORE
Spring/Summer 2008/09
Now into its fourth year, premier women’s label Richard Moore has delivered a cool, young and easy to wear collection for spring/summer 08/09.
A boutique-style range, Moore’s pieces are at home together or as separates, paired with streetwear and denim.
From knitwear beginnings, Moore’s collection now boasts as many wovens as it does knits, creating more contemporary options and catering for New Zealand’s fickle climate.
The base colours for Moore’s summer collection are divided into three parts:
- Metallic neutrals – shades like lunar & old gold’s through to alloy greys & dark pewter tones.
- Punchy brights - yolk, violet & splash aqua.
- Vibrant Miami pastels – bubblegum pink, lime and cabana mauve
A key feature in the range is the dress component, in particular the fully-fashioned and super-fine cut knit dresses.
The Zip Dress Jacket is a highlight piece, both in a knitted option and as a silky wet-look satin anorak.
Loose shirt-style dresses and shorts dresses are offered in both simple cotton shirting’s and also bold, retro silk check prints and self checks.
Scooped hems, gathering and fold-up details at side seem hems, cuffed sleeves and pocket openings add interesting detail to many garments, along with contrast stripes that are scattered throughout the collection.
Georgette is used in multi-layered draped and gathered dresses and skirts, with generous waist self ties.
Shorts are available in two important looks: high-waisted with a short leg length, and slouch-style with a loose knee-length leg in a gathered jodhpur style cuff.
Ends.
